Moving to a New Home

When applying for a Homestead Exemption on a different home within Miami-Dade County, the application asks:

  1. Complete your previous address
  2. Did you receive a Homestead Exemption at this address?

This is how your exemption will be cancelled at your previous address within Miami-Dade County.

If you are applying for a Homestead Exemption in another Florida county:

  1. Complete the Homestead Exemption Cancellation Form
  2. Submit it to our office using above-listed options
  3. Get a receipt
  4. Submit a copy of your receipt with your new application at the other county

Always review your Notice of Proposed Property Taxes (TRIM Notice), which is mailed in August, to confirm these changes have been applied.
